How we check a farm

You are calling a stranger about food. This is exactly what we do before a farm's number appears on this site — and what we do not do.

  1. 01

    We speak to the farmer

    Every application gets a phone call on the number given. If the number does not connect, the listing does not go live.

  2. 02

    We review available evidence

    A certificate is optional for farmers. When supplied, we check the certifying body, the farm name and expiry. Staff approval is not a claim of organic certification.

  3. 03

    We confirm the land and the crop

    District, rough acreage and what is actually growing this season. A farm that lists produce it does not grow is removed.

  4. 04

    We re-check and we suspend

    A farm can be suspended at any time and its listings disappear from the site the moment that happens.

What this is not

We are a directory, not a shop. We do not inspect every harvest, we do not hold stock, we do not take payment and we cannot refund you. The arrangement is between you and the farm.
